Access to quality education is of paramount importance in achieving Sustainable Development. Education provides people with required knowledge, skills, and opportunities to break the cycle of poverty and improve their standards of living. Education lays the foundation for leading a sustainable lifestyle. SDG 4 covers basic literacy, pre-school, higher, tertiary, vocational and technical education. It lays emphasis on providing equal access to all at all levels irrespective of their gender, ethnicity and socioeconomic status and making educational infrastructure for everyone including those with special needs. The 10 targets of the Goal focus on inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
